We’re Lori and Juliette, two Korean-American founders of Supernoona and lifelong lovers of fermented foods.
Our journey began in 2022 when we started brewing makgeolli and making kimchi together—a way to reconnect with our heritage and the care, depth, and funk of traditional Korean fermenting. Growing up between Hawaii and New York, we’ve always lived at the intersection of Korean and American culture, and our everyday cooking reflects that blend. As much as we love American classics, we always crave the bold, spicy, savory flavors of Korean cuisine. For us, nothing beats adding those flavors to a lox bagel, chicken caesar wrap, or smash burger.
But Korean flavors usually come from a mix of pastes, oils, and sauces—delicious, but not exactly convenient for everyday meals. After months of experimenting, we created Supernoona: the first condiment made from real kimchi. A drizzle-ready, versatile way to bring Korean flavor to anything you eat.
We knew we had something special when our friends kept coming back for more—but we really knew when our moms (엄마), the true experts, asked when the next batch was coming. They love it simply over hot rice with barley tea.
